Agadir, Seaside Resort
The magnificent, seaside resort of Agadir is situated just over 160 miles south west of Marrakech and is one of the liveliest cosmopolitan cities in modern Morocco.
A large part of the city was extensively rebuilt in the late 1960’s after suffering earthquake damage. The present king of Morocco, was at that time the hereditary prince and as such actively participated in the reconstruction in the city which is now more dynamic and imposing than ever, creating a truly magnificent, modern resort.
Agadir Location
Morocco, situated at the northernmost tip of Africa, is such a huge country that the climate differs greatly from north to south. The northern towns and cities (Mediterranean Morocco) Tangier, Tetouan, Smir, Saidia etc. are located just a few miles off the southern tip of Spain and do not, as such, offer any different weather than the Costa del Sol.
As you begin to travel further south passing through Rabat, Casablanca then down through Marrakech the temperature begins to steadily creep up and the climate becomes noticeably milder. However, Morocco’s countryside and climate is literally divided by the Atlas Mountains and it is not until you cross these mountains to the south of Marrakech (a stunning driving experience!) that a very different year round climate becomes apparent.
Agadir Climate
Agadir has it’s own micro-climate which enjoys all year round temperatures.
Shielded by the Atlas range and warmed by the winds from the Sahara Desert, Agadir has its own micro-climate which enjoys Canary Island all-year high temperatures - without the wind!

The beach at Agadir is one of nature’s finest creations.
A huge stretch of golden sand (complete with camels) is flanked by the brand new promenade offering numerous cafes, restaurants and bars.
Swimming in the summer is possible anywhere, but in Agadir you can swim during any season of the year. The ambient climate makes late winter and early spring the perfect time to top up your tan!
All this only a 4 hour flight from the UK!
Agadir Town - Dining & Shopping
A typical Moroccan shop
Plenty of shops locally within walking distance
As a modern cosmopolitan resort Agadir is in many ways not typically Moroccan in its liberal, easygoing attitude towards wining and dining with literally hundreds of International bars, restaurants and shops, which run along the length of the extensive brightly-lit beach front promenade.
Literally all tastes will be catered for in the numerous restaurants found in Agadir, anything goes from McDonalds and Pizza Hut, Indian and Chinese restaurants, English pub food complete with the opportunity to catch up on Sky Sports, right through to the other end of the scale - numerous high quality international restaurants serving up top class cuisine - the choice is yours!
For shoppers, unlike the manic hustle and bustle of the Marrakech souks, Agadir offers exactly the same extensive selection of traditional Moroccan gifts, souvenirs, clothing, leather goods, jewellery etc. except in a much calmer setting and on a much smaller scale in the plethora of sea front shops.
In typically Moroccan style once you step over the threshold you will be hassled, albeit in a good-natured way, negotiating is compulsory if you decide on a purchase, they will be disappointed if you don’t, bartering is all part of their fun!
