Es Plà Holiday Villas Mallorca | Balearic Islands
About the area
The Es Pla region of Mallorca is the large, flat central plains that cover southern Mallorca. This area lies to the east of the Tramuntana Mountains and has an abundance of underground water making it ideal for farming and consequently this is where most of the islands fresh produce comes from. You'll see vast olive, lemon, orange and almond groves in the area. Es Pla is a great choice of destination for those who love the outdoors and plenty of wide open spaces; yet you're still less than half an hour from the coast here.
Es Pla will give you a true idea of what older, argricultural Mallorca is all about. The beautiful countryside is dotted with old farmhouses and whitewashed cottages huddled next to impressive churches. The most developed towns in the area are Sineu with its imposing church and medieval appearance and Petra with its sights depicting the life of the eighteenth century Francisan monk and explorer Junipero Serra.
