Sineu Holiday Villas Es Plà
About the area
Sineu was once the capital of the Kingdom of Mallorca and now stands of one of the best examples of a rustic Mallorcan village. Sineu holds the most popular, and most famous market in the whole of Mallorca every Wednesday where you can buy everything from fresh fruit and veg to arts and crafts. The most prominent building in Sineu is the Parish Church of Santa Maria which dates back to 1248 and is well worth a visit.
Sineu has many 'cellars', traditional Mallorcan restaurants in the basements of the medieval buildings huddled around the village square. You can sample traditional dishes such as roast suckling pig (lechona) or lamb thigh (paletilla de cordero.) There are also tapas bars scattered about and numerous restaurants serving international cuisine. Sineu has all amenities you could possibly need including the International Sports Centre with tennis courts, astro turf football pitches and an Olympic sized pool.
Because Sineu is central it is also great for exploring all other parts of the island and you are only 15 minutes away from beaches or mountains. If you love the outdoors this is a great place to be based as there are lots of great places to walk or cycle nearby.
If you want a taste of true Mallorca without the hordes of tourists that flock to some of the larger resorts then Sineu is the place for you.
