About the area

Puerto del; Carmen is Lanzarote's biggest and liveliest resort.  There are essentially 2 parts to Puerto del Carmen, the new part and the old town.  The new part of town is heaving with places to eat, drink and shop.  If you're not up for clubbing until sunrise don't worry!  There are plenty of quieter places to eat or enjoy a drink if you look slightly off the beaten track.  During the day time the main focus point is the long black sand beach that stretches on for miles.  Whether you want to lay on the beach and read book or zoom off on a banana boat there is no better place to spend the day.

The old part of town centres around the quaint harbour.  There are plenty of superb places to eat here and unsurprisingly the seafood is great!  You can sit and watch the sun set whilst sitting outside enjoying your meal and on a clear day you can see right across to neighbouring Fuerteventura.  Just behind the harbour you'll find some great little tapas bars tucked away, give these a try for an authentic Canarian experience.
