About the area
El Medano is a quiet fishing village in the south of Tenerife. It lies in the middle off two mountains, on the right Montaña Roja, on the left Montaña Pelada. El Medano has all kind of services, shops and a line of restaurants along the Paseo Peatonal with terraces overlooking the sea. El Medano is situated close to main roads, next to golf courses and it is easy to reach any attraction that Tenerife has to offer from here.
Windsurfing is the predominant sport in El Medano, as a matter of fact the World Championships take place on Cabezo beach. The other beaches are much more protected from the wind. Diving, canoeing, cycle hire, kite-surfing and lots of other activities are available close by. The village has a very relaxed and chilled out atmosphere and is a great place for families or couples to holiday.
