About the area

Nordjylland is the most northern region in Denmark and it is also the most highly populated region with over 15 per cent of the countries inhabitants living here.  It is not hard to see why so many people choose this as their home or why it attracts thousands of visiors from across Europe each year.

Nordjylland has masses of open landscape, great beaches and lively cities.  If you are a keen hiker, cyclist, surfer, swimmer, sailor or angler then Nordjylland is a great chioce of destination.  The region also boasts some great golf courses for golf enthusiasts. 

The Nordjylland region really is all about clean living and lots of fresh air but it also has some great towns and cities that have vibrant social scenes.  Aalborg is the regions capital and is famous for its distilling of alcohol and spirits in particular.  You;ll find no end of great pubs in Aalborg if you head to Miss Annes's Street where you'll find an array of great beers on offer.  Other notable places to visit in the region include Thy, Mors and the Mariager Inlet- an area on the southern tip of Nordjylland with fantastic beaches.
