Directions to Blue Caves Villas

You have to take the road from the airport of Zakynthos town to Volimes and after you to follow the signs to Agios Nikolaos Port of Volimes (30km).

On the way you will pass through Katastari. About 4 km after (up the hill) you will see a sign of Agios Nikolaos here you have to turn to the right.

Follow the way down, parallel to the sea all the way (about 10 km) to Agios Nikolaos Port.

Once you reach Agios Nikolaos port please give a call to the owner of the property and he will come and meet you and drive the last 2.5km with you to the villa.

The Skinari Region

Villa Palace is located in the region of Skinari is situated on the North of Zakynthos, this is widely regarded as the most beautiful and tranquil area of the island. The region of Skinari consists of many villages including Agios Nikoloas, Volimes, Makri Gialos, Xigia, Mikronisi and is also home to Blue Caves and Navagio (shipwreck).

The traditional mountain village of Volimes is only a few kilometres from the villa and consists of three smaller settlements a few minutes away from each other and feels like you're stepping back in time, as the buildings are some of the best preserved on the island and the way of life is built on tradition. Volimes is the most important village in the north part of the island and is famous for its market, which sells local produce such as handmade rugs and lace, cheese, honey and wine. As far as the village of Volimes is concerned, it worth that you make a visit in order to admire the old churches and the Monastery of Saint Andrea.  For those of you feeling mre active this area is great for walking, there are lots of flat routes or more mountainous walks you can tackle.  If swimming is more your thing then you will be in your element in the clear blue, deep waters that make up this coastline and the Blue Caves are a snorkellers or scuba divers paradise.

Navagio or 'shipwreck' beach is probably the most famous, and the most photographed, beaches in Greece.  It owes its name to a shipwreck of a boat transporting illegal cigarettes which landed up on the beach in 1983.  In the years since then the ship has been surrounded by the beautiful white sands on the beach and it now looks like the ship is emerging out of the beach!  The white sands and turquoise waters on this beach are breathtaking and it is definitley worth the short trip over to the east of the island to get a glimpse of this stunning cove which is widely regarded as one of the best beaches in the world.
