Archontiko Villas are built on the grounds of the old Archontiko Village just 10 minutes stroll down to the beach and it is close to amenities including shops, bars and tavernas. This unique village still has lots of the original artefacts and it is now a protected site. This is a great location to explore Zante from or simply chill out and enjoy the amazing environment and scenery in this area. Archontiko Villas also have the added benefit of a communal pool and poolside bar serving food and drinks.
This air conditioned villa has one double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living areas that sleep 2 additional guests. The living area is comfortable and has a TV with over 2000 satellite channels, perfect for lazy evenings in! The villas have kitchens equipped with all the basics and some added extras like a coffee maker. Each villa has 1 bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin and WC. There’s plenty of room on your private balcony to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet with a nice cold drink. Archontiko Village is not for party animals but it offers guests a truly relaxing environment in which they can enjoy a true Greek holiday.

Living/Dining Area with Kitchen
The living area has a 3 seater sofa (which also turns into a sofa bed for 2 people) and a single seater armchair. There's a coffee table and a TV with over 2000 satellite channels available. The kitchen area is small but perfectly formed. It has a hob, fridge, kettle, coffee maker and all crockery and cutlery. There is also a dining table with 4 chairs.
Bedroom
The bedroom has a double bed with a mosquito net above the bed, a wardrobe, safe box, bedside tables with lamps and a dressing table with a large mirror. This room is air conditioned.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a bath with shower over, a washbasin and a WC. There's also a cabinet with a mirror.
Archontiko Villas offer comfortable accommodation in a wonderful environment. Guests can enjoy their private furnished porches or chill out by the communal pool. But with some of the best beaches in Zante only a short walk away you'll no doubt spend most of your time on the soft sands or paddling in clear, turquoise waters. This is the perfect spot for a 'get away from it all' holiday.

Directions
When leaving the airport, follow the signs for Katastari (The biggest village on the island), drive straight through the village and continue on the road north. About 5 mins after leaving the village, you will find our entrance on the right.

Region Description
Archontiko Villas
The villas are on the grounds of Archontiko Village which is a house that was built in 1846 by the Voutos family. Archontiko means 'lords house' and the house is still the family home of the Voutos family. The outhouses once traded as a flour mill, wine press and olive oil factory and alot of the original artifacts are still on show around the grounds today. After being one of the only buildings to survive the massive earthquake of 1953 which destroyed the majority of buildings on the island, Archontiko house is now protected as a historical site. Archontiko is built on the rock of 'Melisa' and overlooking the bay of Alykes and Alykanas which has the most beautiful clear blue warm waters. About 1km from Archontiko Village, you will find the history museum of Pikadakia which is a must see. About 2km north you will find the beach of Xigia. This is a natural sulphur enriched beach which has free access. A walk to Alykes is where you will be able to get a small boat ride and see the most amazing colours of the Blue Caves. You can also pick up a boat which will bring you to the famous Smugglers Wreck.

Most relaxing holiday ever!
This is the first review I have ever written after a holiday as my experiences have been average but nothing to rave/complain about. However these villa's, the location, the pool area, the poolside bar (I especially recommend their amazing Greek salad - huge and gorgeous!), plus the fact that it is a small complex have made this holiday completely enjoyable and relaxing! There were occasions where there were only my boyfriend and myself around the pool for most of the day! Even a 'busy' time at the pool consisted of a handful of adults and a few children! The owner Sharon was amazing and went out of her way to help with everything she could (which was everything as she's lived there for many years now) and the Greek family who run the poolside bar are all really lovely people who will leave also go above and beyond the normal level of service. I would recommend this place to anybody who needs a good break away from the normal everyday stress we all have! I would suggest car/scooter hire to get around as the trip to the beach and restaurants down below was a good 20 minute walk - which involved a very steep hill (a killer to walk back up in the heat!). We have both fallen in love with Zakynthos and will be back! Many, many thanks to Sharon, Mary and Dimitri for making us feel so welcome and at home with them in their beautiful village!
