About the area
Porches is a pretty village sitiated in the Algarve, close to the seaside town of Carvoeiro and Lagoa. The village os famous for its handicrafts (especially pottery) and its wine making.
Porches has some lovely buildings including its 16th century Mother Church and the ruins of an ancient castle. The village is relatively untouched by tourism but it is becoming more popular and there are a handful of good places to eat and drink. It is lprefectly located to exlore the rest of the Algarve and only 5 minutes drive from the coast.
