About the area

Situated at the mouth of the north side of the lagoon Foz De Arelho is a picture perfect Portugese village where you will be warmed by the areas superb climate and truly welcomed by the friendly locals.

Leading inland from the fabulous Foz beach is the tranquil Obidos lagoon which in days gone by stretched as far as the fortified town of Obidos. Now the lagoon is host to a wide array of watersports and its famous clams can be found in the local restaurants. The beach is just the perfect playground where your days can be as busy or relaxing as you want them to be.

The beach-side bars offer views over the Atlantic and the lagoon whilst providing you with a first-class service. Try the Sétima Vaga if you can get a table and enjoy the esoteric selection of music on offer! A wonderful place to watch the sunset.

The wide selection of bars and restaurants in Foz De Arelho make sure that there is something for everyone. During the day spend some time absorbing the culture of this historic village before heading to some of the local watering holes where you can enjoy an ice cold glass of your favourite tipple.
