Situated at the end of Agadir’s brand new promenade which is bordered on one side by numerous restaurants and bars and on the other side by miles and miles of glorious beach and the always ambient temperature of the Atlantic ocean, there really is no better location for a holiday base.
The Marina development is one of only 5 projects that have been developed from the Moroccan King’s blue plan – a plan designed to make Morocco and, consequently, Agadir a holiday destination to meet everyone’s requirements.
The apartment complex itself is set within the Marina, offering superb, secure accommodation in a gated community. The 4 storey apartment blocks are set in beautifully maintained grounds and are all centred around no less than 3 huge swimming pools. Most of the apartments benefit from views either out to sea, over the Marina or looking out onto the mountains.
At night the Marina is dominated by the dramatic backdrop of the mountain topped by the ruins of the ancient Kasbah, with the illuminated Arabic lettering decreeing “God, King and Country” shining out over the town for all to see. The Marina itself boasts numerous shops, restaurants, ice cream parlours and traditional Moroccan tea rooms.
The shops range from designer - selling handbags, shoes and clothes, to typical Moroccan souvenir shops, with a huge Zara and several other famous named stores for good measure. For your day to day requirements there is also a well stocked mini market, pharmacy and bank with cash machine within the Marina.
During the day Venezia Ice offers the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by whilst sipping a Moroccan tea or sampling the delights of Moroccan pastries or their famous ice creams in every flavour you could wish for.
In the evening if you are just too chilled to take the short walk along the promenade for your meal you can choose from a range of restaurants in the Marina itself, Le Blanc bar is situated overlooking the beach and the perfect place to watch the sun go down. The hugely popular Le Madrague restaurant is a must, booking is recommended. There are also another couple of restaurants and Captain Jack’s Tapas Bar to choose from, something for everyone’s taste literally on your doorstep.
As the name suggests Captain Jack also offers boat trips which can be booked at the bar, an enjoyable way of seeing the sights. Adjacent to Agadir Marina is the traditional fishing port with its multitude of fish cafes where you can sample the day’s catch straight off the boat – it really doesn’t come fresher than that.
All in all Agadir Marina is definitely the perfect location, a little community in itself but bordering the colourful hustle and bustle of the town and right on the edge of the golden sands. A location that offers something for everyone whether you are looking for complete relaxation or wish to sample something a little bit different out and about.
