This extensively refurbished villa is situated on a hilltop location in Las Lomas de Mijas, an area popular with walkers, 5 minutes drive from the picturesque old town of Mijas and around 10 minutes away from the bustling town of Fuengirola with its abundant nightlife, restaurants, shops and the largest stretch of golden sand on the coast. This stunning location really does offer PANORAMIC views to all sides – mountains, campo and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, the mountains of Morocco can be seen on a clear day!
The property has its own secluded large heated pool with slide, and all modern amenities including air conditioning throughout and satellite TV. El Castillo boasts luxurious furnishings including a huge master bedroom with 4 poster bed (ideal for honeymooners!).

Detailed Description
The accommodation consists of:
Large American style kitchen with oven and hob, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, microwave etc. and dining area.
The imposing lounge with floor to ceiling windows, stone pillars and fabulous feature fireplace with log fire for the cooler evenings is beautifully furnished and offers a home entertainment centre complete with satellite flat screen TV, DVD player + films, and hi-fi system.
There is also a sunny family sitting room which leads to an outdoor enclosed dining area with ample seating for dining al fresco.
The ground floor also has a separate wc.
A staircase from the lounge leads to the master bedroom suite which is beautifully furnished complete with an oak 4 poster bed and has a private balcony overlooking the coast. The en-suite bathroom has shower, washbasin and wc, ensuring a totally private suite for the lucky occupants! In the event that you are not so lucky then there is a double sofa bed to accommodate any “little treasures” should you need to.
The three remaining bedrooms are reached via a staircase leading from the kitchen. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with a small decorative balcony overlooking the family room. This bedroom also has its own en-suite shower room with wc and hand basin.
The second floor houses 2 further bedrooms comprising 1 double and 1 twin with a shared bathroom.
The second floor landing gives access to a stunning illuminated rooftop terrace complete with battlement walls topped with iron railings for child safety. This large terrace is equipped with a dining table and chairs and is an ideal suntrap for the serious sun worshipper. Access to this terrace can also be gained via a spiral staircase leading from the garden.
The outside grounds consist of a large fully heated swimming pool with slide and a surrounding sunbathing area with barbecue and a beautiful orange grove consisting of 30+ orange trees.
The imposing front entrance is reached by a sweeping stone stepped pathway flanked by huge palm trees.
There is a large secure parking area for several cars – we do strongly recommend car hire for this villa to facilitate shopping trips etc. We will be happy to arrange car hire for you.
There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the garage.
The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is one of Spain's most popular holiday destinations. Tourists are attracted to the region for the long hot summers which merge into the mildest winters, with over 300 days of sunshine over the year it's not hard to see why this destination is proving to be popular all year round.
Without doubt the many well kept beaches which have been awarded the European Blue Flag award, for high standards of water and sand hygiene help to provide a diverse variety of outdoor activities including, sailing, fishing, scuba diving and windsurfing. These are just a few of the activities available all year round.
The towns of Fuengirola with its golden beaches and extensive night life, and the picturesque hill top village of Mijas old town are both only a few minutes drive away, with Marbella and Puerto Banus easily reached in around 20 minutes.
Tivoli World Amusement Park (approximately 22 minutes drive) is the biggest amusement park on the Costa del Sol and offers both rides and a variety of shows including Flamenco and Wild West. To cater for younger children it has an area of the park call Tivolandia, which is perfect for kids to let off some steam.
Benalmadena Cablecar is right next door to Tivoli World, the cars run up to the summit of Monte Calamorro. Once at the top you can enjoy fantastic views over the Costa del Sol and on a clear day see Gibraltar and the North African coast. Each car can carry 4 people and the journey takes approximately 15 minutes, at the top you also have donkey rides, exhibitions of birds of prey and Spanish horse riding exhibitions all included in the price of the ticket.
Aqualand Aqua Park, Torremolinos (approximately 25 minutes drive) is the largest water park on the Costa del Sol, covering more than 70,000 square meters and has rides called Boomerang, Kamikazee Twister, Rapids and the Black Hole. The park also has an area for small children, waves pools, lots of grassy areas for those wishing to sunbathe, many restaurants and an 18 hole mini golf course.
Torremolinos Crocodile Park (approximately 25 minutes drive) is located in Torremolinos next to Aqualand.
Fuengirola Zoo (approximately 10 minutes drive) can be found in the centre of Fuengirola opposite Mijas Aquapark.

Hi Julia,
Just a quick email to say how much we loved the Castle - the weather wasn't brilliant, but the Villa made up for it! The location is perfect too - very close to the airport and easy to find. Likewise, the pool and slide were brilliant fun, the big people loved it too! We thought it was great for families - we had a couple of elderly people too, and even though the stairs were tricky they still managed them. The lounge is really relaxing and the interior is of a high standard.

Just a note to let you know how much are family enjoyed staying at El Castillo in March. Without a doubt, it was the absolute most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. Plans are in effect to return and are tentatively looking at the dates, but we'll let you know. Next time, we will be looking at 2 weeks as the one went by too fast! Agnes was a wonderful help during our stay and very pleasant to deal with. We recommend a Christmas bonus for her!
