Information on Coin

Coin is often overlooked as a holiday destination as it is not right on the coast like the popular resorts of Fuengirola, Marbella, Benalmadena and the like.  However, if you want a taste of authentic Spain with all the amenities of the seaside resorts then it could be the perfect holiday destination for you.

Coin is located in the foothills of the Sierra de Mijas, surrounded by lush countryside and hundreds of orchards.  Many of the holiday homes in this area are nestled in this beautiful countryside which makes this a great spot for walking, cycling or simply relaxing away from the hustle and bustle that you may find in the larger resorts.

Coin town centre is brimming with character but it also has plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes for you to choose from so you don’t feel like you are ‘out in the sticks.’  There are good sports facilities in the town including an indoor and outdoor swimming pool.

Shopping enthusiasts will love the ‘La Troncha’ shopping centre located just out of town that houses lots of clothes and shoe shops, a supermarket and several cafés.  There is also cinema here and a gym with swimming pool and spa as well as children’s play areas so it’s definitely worth a visit.

If you want to spend a day at the beach Marbella is just 20 minutes’ drive from Coin and you are ideally located to explore inland and coastal Andalusia with Coin as your base.
