Recommended Summer Reads

It’s getting to the point where you’re thinking of your summer holiday or spring break and everyone knows that no holiday is complete without a few good books to read by the pool. I’ve taken a few trips recently and loaded my Kindle (yes, I was eventually turned away from the old fashioned book as it saved more room in my case for bikinis) with some new books. Here’s my lowdown of the books I have enjoyed most recently and would thoroughly recommend (best enjoyed with a cold G&T by the pool).

Bodrum’s Bars

Central Bodrum has a buzz about it whatever time of the day or night you visit. The narrow streets are filled with shops selling everything from leather, jewellery and clothing to local crafts and you can’t go far without being tempted in to buy something by the enthusiastic locals. In the evenings the city really comes alive though with hundreds of bars and restaurants heaving with locals and tourists. If you are mesmerised by the amount of places on offer perhaps our guide to Bodrum’s bars will help you out…

Music Festivals in Spain

Everyone knows that once the sun starts shining in the UK (on those rare occasions it makes an appearance) talk turns to which festival you will be attending over the summer. Glastonbury is back this year and there are hundreds of other festivals ranging from small independent weekends to huge commercial events like V-Festival. But imagine not having to worry about getting covered in mud or spending the day getting soaked in a field soggy field in the UK… There are now lots of festivals worldwide that you can go to and Spain is starting to compete with the UK for the choice of festivals on offer. So why not pack your bikini and check out one of these events for a change this year…

Fear of Flying

Although air travel is widely known as one of the safest forms of transport, a surprisingly large number of people still have a fear of flying (1 in 10 people apparently). As a confident air passenger thankfully the thought of boarding a plane doesn’t fill me with dread (I’m usually just far too excited about reaching the sunny destination at the end of the flight!) However, if you are scared of flying but don’t want to be tied to catching the ferry and driving for miles every time you go away why not consider attending a fear of flying course?

Costa del Sol

Places to visit on the Costa del Sol – Fuengirola

Mijas in the Costa del Sol is the perfect destination for a villa holiday. It’s got everything you could possibly want or need, and has something to offer everyone. But sometimes it’s good to hire a car and explore the rest of what the Costa del Sol has to offer. If there’s one place you really have to visit, then it’s got to be Fuengirola. It’s big and it’s lively, but it’s also a beautiful place too. Fuengirola lies just 25km south west of Malaga airport half way between Malaga city and Marbella. Along with Torremolinos and Benalmadena Costa, Fuengirola is the third major tourist development on this section of Spain’s Costa del Sol.
