If you are looking for fun and adventure while staying on the Costa del Sol, look no further than the fantastic Aventura Amazonia, the largest adventure park in Andalucia. The park features six different treetop assault courses for all ages and abilities, and the longest treetop zip wire in Andalucia.
Aventura Amazonia is located just off the main A7 coastal road, near to exit 191 for Elviria. It is situated just 500 metres from the beach so you can swing from the trees and then relax on the beach afterwards!
The park features six different circuits that cater for all ages (from 4 upwards) and abilities. The Minikids circuit is an area for 4 to 7 year olds. This is really just an adventure playground that is safe for young children, with no need for harnesses. There is a zipline and 10 obstacles on this course, plus handicraft workshops for those children that don’t feel like being so adventurous. This area is fully enclosed and staffed by monitors that specialise in looking after young children. Parents can even leave their kids here while they take on the more challenging courses.
The Kids circuit is a low height circuit with 12 challenges. The course is designed so that parents can accompany their children around the course. The course has an average height of 1.6 metres.
The Explorador is for adventurous kids or not-so-adventurous adults who want to try out an easy course. There are 14 challenges on this course, all at a fairly low height.
The Jungla circuit is a slightly more complicated circuit with 14 challenges including a large climbing wall. This is really aimed at adolescents and adults that are not feeling so brave!
The Aventura is the first of the circuits that really has the fear factor added! This 15 challenge circuit has obstacles at an average of 6.4 metres and the incredible 250 metre zip wire awaits you at the end of this course.
Deportivo is the most difficult of all the circuits. Designed for teenagers or adults that are able to traverse through the treetops at an average of 9 metres above the ground. Those with vertigo need not apply! Challenges include the ‘Tarzan’s Leap’ and a ‘Surfboard through the Treetops’ and that 250 metre zip wire of course.
Safety comes first at the park and before visitors are allowed to take on the courses that require harnesses they must complete a safety demonstration. Children must be at least 1.45 metres tall to try out the Aventira course and Deportivo is for over 16s only. The park uses the highest safety ‘smart’ carabiners to attach participants to the safety line that runs around the courses. Your safety is guaranteed.
Entrance to the park ranges from 16€ for 4 to 6 year olds, to 24€ for adults in peak season (July and August) Once you have paid the entrance fee you have 3 hours within the park to try out as many courses and challenges as you like, so it is good value for money. The park has a café offering refreshments, or there is a picnic area if you want to take your own food and drink. There is also a shopping centre just 100 metres from the park where you can buy any refreshments you may want.
The park opening times vary depending on the time of year. From mid-June until the end of August it is open from 10am to 9pm daily. At other times of the year the park may close earlier, please check before you arrive. Booking is always recommended so call +34 952 835 505 to make a reservation.
