For beach lovers looking for somewhere quieter, particularly with children, Konnos Bay is an absolute must-see. While the beach is a little small, it is unspoiled, rarely crowded and offers magnificent views of the surroundings. On the plus side for kids, they even offer bins of beach toys to play with.

For those interested in enjoying traditional Cypriot architecture and a mystical atmosphere, the Church of Lazarus in Larnaca is a great visit. The church contains the Tomb of St. Lazarus and even a spring, the water of which is believed to be blessed and good for the eyes. In the surrounding streets there are several good cafes and shops.

For an original experience for lovers of good beer, Aphrodite’s Rock Brewery & Brewpub comes highly recommended. This small, bespoke beer brewing operation gives visitors the opportunity to tour all the various stages of production, including taste testing, ending up with great food and beer right there on site.

St. Hilarion Castle, Kyrenia

An ideal destination for history buffs, St. Hilarion Castle is a fascinating visit. While the steps up to the castle are steep it is worth the climb, as both the building itself and the surroundings views are beautiful. Even better, there’s a café at the bottom of the steps and another half way up for those who need a rest along the way.

Getting back to the beaches, Fig Tree Bay can be busy in the summer months, but offers beautiful clean sand and clear waters which are great for swimming, along with an excellent bar/cafe overlooking the sea. The setting is beautiful and perfect for lounging around in the sun.

Kato Paphos Archaeological Park, Paphos

Another great spot for history lovers is the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park. This fascinating site is close to Paphos Harbour, offering ruins and monuments dating from prehistoric times right through to the Middle Ages with plenty to see. The park is still under excavation with more discoveries being made regularly.

For those with an urge to get out in the fresh air and hike in nature, the Adonis Natural Trail offers incredible scenery. This 7.5 kilometre trek is reasonably easy going and offers the best in both scenic views and relaxing fresh sea air.
