An Exciting Summer Ahead on Mijas Costa

An exciting summer ahead on Mijas Costa by Panoramic Villas

Mijas Costa always has lots on offer as a holiday resort; miles of sandy beaches, world class golf courses, hundreds of restaurants, shopping malls…the list goes on.  But summer 2015 is set to be particularly exciting with great events and new facilities popping up on the coast.

Mijas Costa already has its own aquapark but now you will be able to hit the waterslides when you go to the beach as well!  This summer there will be three floating waterparks located on the beaches at Calahonda, La Butibamba and El Faro.

These floating ‘waterparks’ are really more like obstacle courses with floating platforms that you can jump, climb and slide around on.  The waterparks will be around 50 metres offshore so children must be able in the water to go on them.  The local council has also added more lifeguards to the beaches this summer to ensure holidaymakers safety.

To try out the waterparks you can pay €10 per hour, or get a whole day pass for €25.  If you don’t fancy giving it a go it’s almost as entertaining watching other people try and make their way around this unsteady, slippery obstacle course!

The Miguel Gonzalez Berral Auditorium in Mijas village is set to host a number of music concerts this summer. The ‘Warm Summer Nights’ programme starts on the 25th June in this outdoor auditorium and over thirty music, dance and theatre performances will take place over the summer.

Highlights will include a Bruce Springsteen tribute and a night of classic rock with songs by legends such as Pink Floyd and Deep Purple being played. Also look out for dance performances that are set to be put on by local dance schools.

Watching dance, music or theatre at the outdoor auditorium is sure to be a great evening in summer when the evenings are balmy and you can sit out and soak up the atmosphere.

Tickets for all events can be purchased form the tourist office in Mijas so call in and take a look at what events are on whilst you are holidaying in the area.

Book you holiday on Mijas Costa today and experience these great new additions for yourself.
