The Top 5 Places to eat with children in Fuengirola

Children are welcome anywhere in Spain, all restaurants and bars have an open door policy for children of all ages but if your children aren’t accustomed to Spanish food they might struggle in some establishments, Spanish children grow up eating exactly what their parents eat so it can be difficult to find places that offer a children’s menu.

Whether you’re staying in one of our Fuengirola apartments or villas, we found some great restaurants where there are options for children so you can enjoy every minute of your Spanish holiday.

Ristorante Fresco

The pizza is the star dish at Ristorante Fresco

This Italian restaurant offers Italian, Mediterranean and European food but of course the pizza is the most popular dish on the menu and what child doesn’t like pizza? Situated on the Paseo Maritimo it has lots of outdoor seating and is always child friendly. The food is amazing and the menu is wide and varied so you’re sure to find something to suit even the fussiest of eaters. Portions are very generous so sharing is a great idea for those with smaller appetites and the service is always with a smile, especially for the little ones. Take away is also available.

Bistro Michel

This lovely restaurant is as delightful as it sounds, the food is a mixture of Spanish, British and other European choices and the main man Michel is a fabulous Dutch chef. There isn’t a children’s menu as such but there are smaller portions at a cheaper price on offer and what you get is just delicious. There are different choices of the meals each day so you could have anything from spaghetti Bolognese to grilled chicken or pork, meatballs or curry, the list is endless. Tucked away on Calle Orquidea, this lovely place may need to be booked in advance as it’s always busy but well worth the effort. Adults receive a complimentary glass of cava while the children get a plate of jelly sweets arranged in a smiley face when you leave, it’s the little touches that make you want to return.

Poco Loco

This family run restaurant is hidden away on Calle Torrealta and serves Asian and Indonesian type food. The notice board outside states “We don’t do fast food” and it’s so true, the food is cooked from fresh, healthy ingredients from scratch and is something different for those whose palette is more used to spicy food, there are even non spicy options for the little ones so it suits the whole family. There are more European options too so you can order a steak and chips if that’s what you prefer, plus the desserts are to die for. If you don’t see something you like on the menu ask the waiter or waitress for an alternative, they are extremely accommodating.
